My Son, as I write to you, I do so with voices in my head that I find difficult to silence; however, I know that one day they will be gone and so will their influence. These voices are the voices of my enemies and the voices of my critics, which I have lived with for far too long.
They have buffeted me and have kept me quiet, but my love for you compels me to speak, in spite of them. As I speak, you must allow my mind to wander to my familiar, peaceful places. You must allow me to freely associate with my King and my God – who keeps me focused and resting – as I continue to see what it is that He commands me to teach you this day.
YHWH IS MY SHEPHERD. I DO NOT WANT ANYTHING BUT HIM. AS I FOLLOW HIM AND LISTEN FOR HIS VOICE, I AM AMAZED THAT I AM NEVER WITHOUT A PLACE TO LIE DOWN; A PLACE TO EAT; OR A PLACE TO REST. WHEN I HEAR HIS VOICE AND I STAY CLOSE TO HIM, I AM WELL TAKEN CARE OF. AS A RESULT, MY CHOICES BECOME SO SIMPLE. WHENEVER MY MIND WANDERS TO CONSIDER THE BEAUTY OF THE SUNSET OR THE SOUNDS OF THE BIRDS, HE DRAWS ME BACK TO HIM – RESTORING MY SOUL IN THE PROCESS. HE LEADS ME BACK TO MY PURPOSE; MY PROTHESIS. HE LEADS ME BACK TO CLOSE PROXIMITY TO HIM, WHERE I CONTINUE TO LEARN OF HIM – FOR I AM HIS AND HE IS MINE. AND YES, WHEN I FIND MYSELF IN TROUBLE – DEEP TROUBLE – WITH ENEMIES ON EVERY SIDE, MY SHEPHERD; MY SAVIOR; MY CHOICE COMFORTS ME AND I HAVE NO FEAR. MY SOUL REFUSES TO FEAR ANY EVIL FORCE. MY SHEPHERD, YHWH YAHSHUA, IS WITH ME. HIS ROD (WHICH IS HIS VOICE/HIS WORD) AND HIS STAFF (WHICH ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT I HAVE TRAINED MYSELF TO OBEY), ARE MY COMFORT.
OH, YAHSHUA, YOU HAVE PREPARED THIS TABLE FOR ME IN THE PRESENCE OF MINE ENEMIES. YOU HAVE ANOINTED MY HEAD WITH OIL. I DID NOT SET THIS TABLE, NOR DID I ANOINT MY OWN HEAD. MY CUP RUNS OVER, FOR YOU HAVE CAUSED IT TO BE SO. MY HEART IS FULL WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF YOUR GOODNESS AND YOUR MERCY, WHICH FOLLOWS ME ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE. I WILL DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF YHWH, FOR EVER. (Reference: Psalm 23)
