My friends,
As I write this note to you today, I am in New Haven with the class of 1980 which is the class before mine at Yale. I am meeting with individuals who have accomplished
great things in their lives and have raised children who are now beginning to get traction in their lives and careers while others have young
children. There is a rumbling underneath all of this that is speaking of faith and there will be a discussion as many have ideas as to what faith is and as to what honor is -- as to what love is and in fact as to what God is. For many God has yet to rise to personhood for some and He hasn't been allowed to speak for Himself -- which He has clearly done in the Bible -- which we love and know.
Today, I submit myself to the reading of Luke and to Proverbs 29 and 30 and am reminded that YHWH is His name and Yahshua is His son's name and that cannot be mistaken, nor can it be discussed for these names were given by Yah Himself, which is the way it should be. Names are given to give life and to give rights and to give essence and more. We cannot give life nor rights nor essence to Yah and we cannot name Him, yet we can and should call on His Name.
I love to see my wife in this group. She moves freely amongst this group bringing her energy and her joy to so many. She brings laughter and truth and challenges the very lifestyle of many here and she is well received. Many who spend time with her laugh deeply and my Annie revels in the attention and I am blessed to be able to share her with my friends and with this group. As we prepare for next year's celebration, Pastor Annie can see the value of this wonderful effort.
The people of Yale are high quality people who have been trained for leadership and for service and have -- in many instances been led to lead efforts that have not satisfied, but now they are looking to really make their time count. It is my prayer that what YHWH has been training me for will allow me to translate a bridge for this group to work with PVN and with Faith Exchange as we move towards creating lasting solutions to heal the sick and put an end to all types of war - both violent and non - violent -- active and passive .. You do realize that when you ignore a situation -- you are in fact waging a kind of warfare that may be even more evil than openly committing a violent act.
It is with this backdrop that I prepare this message for church tomorrow. As our congregation begins to spend more and more time together -- we will have church tomorrow and then spend all day together on Monday -- picnicking at Dr. Eric Braverman's home in Princeton, NJ -- once owned by George Washington -- we will meditate the concepts of honor and wisdom -- as instructed through Yahshua in Luke and through Solomon in Proverbs.
Finally, as we have soldiers placed around the world -- I pray that we honor them in our thoughts. It would be quite wise to remember how many are doing the right thing so that you can do anything at all. Make sure that you are doing right things so that others can break out of their hell to begin to do what they have been created to do.
Now, Finally - Finally -- you are a soldier -- put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood... (Eph. 6:11)
Read down to verse 20 and as you do prepare to join us for church tomorrow and prepare to be filled with revelation regarding wisdom and honor.
Wisdom and Honor go hand in hand.
A man's pride will bring him low, but the humble in spirit will retain honor.
The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.
Many seek the ruler's favor, but justice for man comes from the Lord.
1) Don't harden your heart or your neck -- stay teachable.
2) Love wisdom.
3) Avoid relationships (harlots) that are transient or merely transactional.
4) A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet.
5) Consider the cause of the poor. Don't just consider the poor. They have thoughts, they have creativity - they have vision -- they have a cause.
6) Scoffers destroy -- Wise men turn away wrath -- they do not allow confusion, scoffing and catch destruction at the stage of talk and even body language and emotion.
7) Wise people should not contend or fellowship with fools -- When fools rage or laugh -- there will be no peace -- no wholeness -- people will be left out and things will get broken.
8) There are those that attack the innocent, the young and those who don't know to defend themselves -- the upright are not so.
9) How do you know a fool? He is continually telling you how he feels. A wise man holds his tongue and controls his feelings. Rarely will you know how he feels.
10) Rulers -- pay no attention to lies and liars. You are a ruler. You are working toward mastery -- If you can rule your tongue you can rule a city.
11) Correct your son, and he will give you rest; but happy is he who follows instruction. And happy is the Father who follows instructions by giving instructions.
12) Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint, but happy is he who keeps instruction.
13) A servant will not be corrected by mere words, he has to be incentivised. Even though he understands -- he will not respond unless he understands there are consequences for both responding well and responding poorly.
14) Fools are hasty with their words.
15) Do not partner with thieves.
